Addiyar
Addiyar was first published in 1941 as an Arab daily political newspaper. In 1988, it was taken over by journalist and former army colonel Charles Ayoub, but was temporarily shut down in January 1990 by then-Prime Minister Michel Aoun because of Ayoub’s political alignments. It resumed publishing after three days. The paper is known to be pro-Syrian regime. Ayoub himself confirmed receiving funding from the Syrian regime. Despite being formerly affiliated with the Syrian regime, it is administratively independent from organizational partisan interferences. Charles Ayoub is the Chairman of the Board. Fadi Shami and Emile Hayek are both Editors-in-Chief.

Addiyar is published by Al-Nahda SAL, which is almost fully owned by Charles Ayoub (98.6%). 1.4% of the shares of Al-Nahda SAL are held by Kingdom Holding SAL, which is owned by the Solh Family (Al Waleed Bin Talal's aunts, Leila Solh (former Lebanese Minister of Industry), his mother Mona Solh, and his cousin Walid Solh. Kindgom Holding SAL is the Lebanese branch of the Saudi conglomerate Kingdom Holding, which is owned 95% by Prince Al Waleed Bin Talal.
