Addiyar

Addiyar was first published in 1941 as an Arab daily political newspaper. In 1988, it was taken over by journalist Charles Ayoub, but was temporarily shut down in January 1990 by then-Prime Minister Michel Aoun because of Ayoub’s political alignments. It resumed publishing after three days. The paper is known to be pro-Syrian regime. Ayoub himself confirmed receiving funding from the Syrian regime. Charles Ayoub is the Chairman of the Board. Fadi Shami and Emile Hayek are both Editors-in-Chief.
