Al-Jadeed

Al-Jadeed (formerly New TV) was founded by the Lebanese Communist Party in 1992 and forcibly shut down in 1997 when it did not get the required license as it did not support the pro-Syrian regime Lebanese authorities. The station was reopened in 2001 by Tahseen Khayat (a Lebanese businessman, owner of Tahseen Group, a company working in different sectors such as publishing, printing, distribution, media, power generation and pharmaceuticals). In early 2007, New TV changed its name to Al-Jadeed. Al-Jadeed's editorial line is critical of the Future Movement and the March 14 alliance.

Its current chairman is Tahseen Khayat and its news director is Mariam Al-Bassam.
