Megaphone News
Established in 2017, Megaphone News is a platform which began on Facebook and later expanded to Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, and WhatsApp. It primarily covers daily news from a leftist, progressive perspective. The network extensively grew following the October 17, 2019 uprising; it proclaims to be politically independent, insisting that any funding it receives does not impose editorial restrictions. It relies on a donation program, alongside funding and grant projects from major international and regional institutional donors, including the European Endowment for Democracy, International Media Support, Canal France International, Open Society Foundations, Asfari Foundation, Samir Kassir Foundation, and the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC). Jean Kassir is the platform's Managing Director, Khaled Saghieh is its Managing Editor, and Samer Frangie is its Editor-in-Chief.
