Ibrahim Al-Amine
Ibrahim Al-Amine is the CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Al-Akhbar newspaper. A staunch supporter of Hezbollah, he is known for his fiery op-eds, fiercely opposing the March 14 coalition. He was tried before the Special Tribunal for Lebanon for contempt and obstruction of justice in 2016 and was fined by the Tribunal after being found guilty. He also was a jury member on a political reality TV show on Al-Jadeed aimed at identifying new young leaders in Lebanese politics. He owns 36.4% of Akhbar Beirut SAL directly and 7.4% through his ownership of 59.7% of Akhbar Beirut Holding. He stood in opposition to the March 14 coalition and the anti-establishment movement as a whole, particularly as Hezbollah has shifted to becoming increasingly antagonistic towards the country’s non-sectarian opposition.
